Dr Deepa Senapathi presents Pollinators: What’s the buzz about?

DeepaWhy are pollinators important? Why is there so much concern over their declines? What does this mean for us and our everyday life and is there anything we can do to reverse the negative trends? This talk will cover these questions, try and deal with some myths about pollinator declines and provide a quick overview of the science to date.
Deepa is a conservation biologist at the University of Reading, with experience of working with populations and species of conservation concern in both the tropics and in the temperate regions. The focus of her work is mainly on the impacts of changing climate and changing land-use on biodiversity and she has worked on conservation projects in India, Mauritius and the UK. The current focus of her research is exploring the reasons for declines in pollinators communities and finding solutions to help conserve these vital members of our ecosystems.
