Field meeting at the Old Town Railway Cutting SSSI and Great Quarry SSSI in Swindon organised by the Reading Geological Society.
The Railway Cutting exposes the very topmost Kimmeridge, and much of the overlying fossiliferous Portlandian sequence. Great Quarry, exposes the top of the Portlandian and most of the local laterally variable Purbeckian rocks. We will be joined by Wilts Geological Society. Travel will be by cars and passengers will pay £7.00. Please bring hand lenses, cameras, notebooks and packed lunches.
If you would like to attend this meeting please get in contact with the Field Meeting Secretary David Ward to book a place. Details can be found on the website.
